Owning a number of reference books it is a rarity that a book passes my desk that I actually say everyone should own a copy. Being one of those ’seen one, seen them all’ types it is hard to impress. This book though did just that.
First and foremost this book is actually written for the layman and not in some jibberish babble that makes a card reading translation harder to understand than it should be. We all know that we have had a card reading or ten that just did not make sense or was not clear, but when we rely upon help in the interpretations we have to interpret those as well. Not so with this book. Easy to read and understand which I find refreshing to say the least. I have only come upon one other book that compares with this one so I am impressed.
The premise of this book is to enable the user to become advanced in the way they do their readings. Showing, with diagrams, the various patterns that may be used. Yes, I know that is common place with this type of book, yet it goes further than this. At the end of the various chapters there are questions that you the card reader should utilize to enhance your Tarot experience. Taking you on a much further exploration than you would have thought by an author.
The questions are put forth in a manner for the seeker of knowledge to actually seek within for the answers. A novel approach. A full tutorial which for the beginner is exceptional and I have actually told those just starting to pick a copy up.
Pictures are in black and white but are clear and crisp with the tarot cards details. Exercises that are in the book should not just be completed by the beginner but even by those advanced as well. I completed a couple of them and the self exploration along with the deck was wonderful.
If you are looking for a truly good reference book the Best Tarot Practices is the book to buy.
