Totems: Do You Follow Yours?

Finding our totems is something that a lot of people are always interested in. We may have one that follows us all our lives. Staying with us like a best friend or close family member. While other times these totems appear when we are in the need of changing something and they come to us to guide us. Utilizing the attributes that the totem has.

But how many actually use the totems magical properties in their workings? In talking to those that sit on the counsel with me I was surprised that most used only a small segment. Myself I use none. I know. I know. I ignore mine until it hits me in the face with its wet feet.

Today was exactly one of those days. I promised my youngest son that we would get a very small aquarium for my sitting room upstairs. Since he is only 8 1/2 we decided it was best if it was up here with me to watch over. Finally today he asked if I was going to buy it. It really was not on my list of things to buy so I explained that I might get it or I would wait until he could go with me on a weekend.

We were in the process of getting things for the down stairs bathroom renovation. Don't get me started on that! My mind was totally on the plumbing parts when my daughter brought it up. Hmm, a conspiracy. Ending our travels at a store that carried tanks, fish and everything else I walked over and there it was. A perfect sized tank. OK that was good. Turning around I saw them. The most beautiful albino orange frogs. Now this may not sound like anything but my totem is a frog and my favorite color is orange. Hit me in the head again!

I bought two of these cuties and hoped that my son would be OK with them.

Sometimes our totems speak to us in many forms. Just as today it was as if these frogs were spotlighted and I saw nothing else. Not to mention the color made me laugh.

Will I begin again to use the attributes of my totem? More than likely yes. I have a headache from being hit to many times!

***My son loved the frogs and chose the one that I thought he would!
