Article Submissions: What We Look For

A lot of people write or call us asking exactly what type of material that we look for and accept. Do you have to have experience? Published?

The answer is no! The Simple Witch has had many writers send material that it was the first time they had ever written anything. The content was absolutely wonderful. OK, not everyone is writer and the work they have sent in might need some revisions or direction. Yes, we actually will help those that have a good concept just problem with the finished product.

Since myself and two of the other staff workers are trained and experienced in both editing and writing we can prompt, push and prod a writer to seeing where they are supposed to go with the writing.

People ask, "Well, its called The Simple Witch it has to be content on witchcraft" Nonsense. The Simple Witch brings to print many ideas, paths, and beliefs altogether under one roof. You do not have to be a Wiccan, Pagan, Neo-Pagan to write an article. As long as it is spiritual we will look at it. If it does not fit our publication we send it to another of our publishers that will in fact print it.

Another question has been brought up. We have in the past published written works that had a slight flavor of Christianity. Why? We stand by the rule that everyones beliefs, as long as it does not harm another or pushed down another's throat should be listened to. Think of it as a learning experience. We have had writers that practiced Christian Wicca and the articles were mind opening. To turn down articles that are refreshing and intellectual would in our opinion be intolerant of others views. The Simple Witch practices what we preach.

In closing, if you think you have a short article, poem, artistic work that you would like to have placed under our consideration for printing in our publication, rest assured that it will be considered and/or printed.
